Independent Manufaturer Rep Model

Acuity Medical, Inc was founded in 1987 as an Independent Manufacturer Representative business. The core model was built around increasing revenue for select manufacturers that share the Acuity vision of committment to quality, innovation, and cost containment. Acuity Medical recruits and trains experienced medical sales professionals to effectively manage and grow small "micro" territories. This customer-focused approach allows the Acuity sales team to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships with their customer base, allowing the organization to gain market share quickly within the various channels.

The company has consistently demonstrated an ability to effectively grow the business for start-up manufacturers who require “product pioneering”, as well as for mature products that need improved visibility and sales efforts in their channel to increase market share. Current products are found throughout the continuum of care including hospitals, long term care, and home health care. The product mix includes capital equipment and disposable products. 

All Acuity Medical, Inc sales representatives complete a comprehensive internal sales and product training module when hired. This internal tool combined with the training support of their contracted manufacturers provides a measurable and lean learning curve for the Acuity Medical sales team. The company also supports an open door policy for co-travel with any contracted vendor which allows for precise and seamless ongoing product and sales training.

Specialty Distribution

In 2005 Acuity Medical, Inc moved into their current location, a 4,000 sf office / warehouse located in Annapolis, MD. The convenient loction is very close to major highways and a strategic central location for their operation. The facility allowed them to develop and grow their “brick and mortar” specialty distribution business, which was their vision when taking control of the company in 2003. The specialty distribution business is supported by their experienced Customer Service and Operations team. Products distributed are exclusive to Acuity Medical, Inc  and not available to other distributors in the region. The organization is a member of IMDA.

Acuity Medical's management team, and the Acuity Medical Advisory Board, has significant experience and success with numerous highly visible start-up ventures within the healthcare market.
